Why Volunteer?

Through the act of volunteering, you can make a difference in a cause or issue that is important to you. Your gift of time can have an immediate impact on others while giving you the opportunity to:

• Contribute to your community

• Enrich another person’s life

• Make new friends

• Develop or enhance your knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Learn a new occupation

• Earn job experience hours

• Discover new talents

Your commitment to volunteer can be as little as one day or as long as there is a need. The duration of service varies with the programs and/or activities. You may prepare packets for a special meeting, provide information at the annual Senior Day, or perform clerical duties in an office. The San Bernardino County Health and Human Services Departments have a volunteer opportunity for everyone.
