SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION

The San Bernardino County Senior Affairs Commission (SAC) serves as an advisory body and may make recommendations to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and Department of Aging & Adult Services- Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) Director on policy matters related to the needs of senior citizens and the services available to meet those needs.


For information on how to apply to become a Senior Affairs Commissioner, please visit the San Bernardino County Boards, Commissions & Committees (BCC) page to complete an application. Applications are accepted continuously and appointed as seats become vacant. Visit the BCC Roster and select “Senior Affairs Commission” from the drop-down list to view the commission details and official roster.

How to Attend General Session and All Standing Committee Meetings

All meetings are open to the public. All scheduled items will be heard at the San Bernardino County (SBC) Department of Aging & Adult Services-Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) East Valley Region/Administration, 784 E. Hospitality Lane, San Bernardino, California.


Alternate locations for the public to address the Board by interactive video are available in the West Valley Region, 9445 Fairway View Place, Ste 110, Rancho Cucamonga, and in the Desert Region, 17270 Bear Valley Road, Ste 108, Victorville, California. NOTE: These alternate locations are offered as a courtesy and may be closed due to inclement weather, if technology fails, or another unforeseen emergency. If the site(s) are closed, a notice will be posted by 9:00 a.m. the day of the meeting whenever feasible.


As part of an ongoing commitment to improved public access, all meetings are live streamed; the San Bernardino County Seniior Affairs Commission and the Department of Aging & Adult Services-Public Guardian provide this publiic service. Viewing meetings via the virtual access link does not allow viewers to make Public Comments or interact with the meeting in progress.

Public Comment

The Public Comment period is an opportunity for members of the public to address the Commission on matters within the Commission's jurisdiction. State law prohibits Commissioners from discussing or taking action on items not on the agenda. Public Comments may be submitted via email to DAASSAC@hss.sbcounty.gov. In the subject line, provide your full name and the words "Public Comment." Comments are read for the record and are limited to three minutes or less. Public comments do not have to be submitted in advance.


Reasonable Accommodations
