Recognize the Warning Signs

Nervousness around adults
Aggression toward adults or other children
Sudden, dramatic changes in personality or activities
Frequent or unexplained bruises or injuries
Low self-esteem

Marilyn Evans
Community Advocate

Marilyn became a licensed foster parent over 38 years ago and has since cared for 214 children through out San Bernardino county in addition to raising two children of her own and a grandson.

She cared for children from birth to age 18, of all nationalities for over 25 years.

My career as a Social Worker began 19 years ago. I had just graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW).I was anxious to see what the world of social work had to offer. As I prepared my resume, I was encouraged by my family, who all worked for San Bernardino County, to work for the county. I searched the county job listing for a social worker position but none were available so I applied to work as a Social Service Aide.
