The Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS)
purchased three InfoVans from the Community Outreach for
Independent Living (COIL) pilot project, which was funded by a Long-Term
Care Innovation Grant and part of Governor Davis’ “Aging With
Dignity” Initiative administered by the California Department of
Aging. DAAS is the 22nd California Area Agency on Aging to
acquire InfoVans.
InfoVans are cargo vans with two-person seating capacity and easily
identifiable in style and color. They are mobile information centers
that improve access and linkages to the growing health and social
service needs of seniors, adults with functional impairments, and
caregivers, including those living in rural, urban, and suburban areas,
targeting populations with cultural diversities.
InfoVans, staffed by DAAS’ Senior Information and Assistance staff,
will travel to a variety of locations throughout the County, including
community events, senior centers, senior nutrition sites, medical
facilities, libraries, schools, and so forth.
Calendars will be posted for each of DAAS’ Desert, East Valley, and
West Valley Regional Offices. We hope you’ll take the
opportunity to attend an InfoVan event and talk with our staff to find
out about services that could benefit you.

events, please contact Senior Information and Assistance at
