and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools

OVERVIEW

The San Bernardino County Child Care and Development Council has been an active entity in San Bernardino County since July 1991. Charged with planning for child care and development programs and with setting priorities for expenditure of Federal Child Care Block Grant funds as well as State Department of Education child care dollars, the Council has been restructured several times, but has always maintained its dedication to ensuring that the children and families of San Bernardino County has quality, safe, affordable and accessible child care and development programs available.

MISSION

Our children are our future. It is the mission of the Child Care Planning Council to promote the availability of quality, affordable, accessible child care facilities and services for families who reside and/or work in San Bernardino County.

VISION STATEMENT

Our Children are our future.

All Children are deserving of a life free from fear and full of possibilities.

Children are not raised in vacuum...it takes a community effort.

Parents have the right to be involved on making decisions that affect their children.

Child care should be available, accessible, affordable and of a high quality for all resources.

Child care should provide age and developmentally appropriate activities for all ages and incomes.

PARTICIPATION

The Child Care Planning Council is appointed one half by the Board of Supervisors and one half by the County Superintendent of Schools. While only appointed members vote on issues brought to the Council, the community at large is invited to participate in the activities of the Council and attend the monthly meetings.
